Article Processing Charges (APCs)

The Journal of Nanomaterials and Applications (JNA) is an open access journal committed to providing free and unrestricted access to published research. To support the costs of high-quality publishing services, the journal applies Article Processing Charges (APCs).

1. Overview

APCs are fees charged to authors (or their institutions/funders) to cover the costs associated with:

  • Editorial management and peer review
  • Production (copyediting, typesetting, formatting)
  • DOI registration and indexing services
  • Online hosting, archiving, and dissemination

All articles published in JNA are made freely available immediately upon publication.

2. APC Structure

Article Type APC (USD)
Research Article 300 – 800 USD
Review Article 400 – 1000 USD
Short Communication 200 – 500 USD

Note: Standard APC: 0 USD [This publishing fee is paid by the Huanghai Institute of Technology and Applications, so the authors do not have to pay APC]

3. Payment Policy

  • APCs are charged only after acceptance of the manuscript
  • There are no submission or review fees
  • Payment must be completed before final publication

4. Waiver and Discount Policy

JNA is committed to inclusivity and supports authors through:

  • Full or partial APC waivers for researchers from low-income countries
  • Discounts for invited papers or outstanding submissions
  • Institutional or consortium agreements (if applicable)

All waiver requests are evaluated fairly and independently of editorial decisions.

5. Transparency and Editorial Independence

  • APC payments do not influence editorial decisions
  • All submissions undergo the same rigorous peer review process
  • The journal adheres to international publishing ethics standards

6. Refund Policy

  • APCs are non-refundable once the article enters the production stage
  • Exceptional cases will be reviewed by the Editorial Office

Authors are encouraged to:

  • Check institutional or funder support for APCs
  • Ensure compliance with open access mandates
