Guide for Authors

The Journal of Nanomaterials and Applications (JNA) welcomes high-quality submissions that contribute to the advancement of nanoscience and nanotechnology. Authors are encouraged to carefully follow the guidelines below to ensure a smooth review and publication process.


1. Types of Manuscripts

JNA accepts the following types of submissions:

  • Research Articles: Original research with significant findings
  • Review Articles: Comprehensive and critical reviews of specific topics
  • Short Communications: Brief reports of novel results
  • Technical Notes: Innovative methods or techniques

Authors are required to:

  • Register an account
  • Upload manuscript files
  • Provide metadata (title, abstract, keywords, authors)

Structure of the Manuscript

A typical manuscript should include:

  1. Title Page
    • Title of the article
    • Full names and affiliations of authors
    • Corresponding author’s email
  2. Abstract
    • 150–250 words
    • Clearly state objectives, methods, results, and conclusions
  3. Keywords
    • 3–6 keywords
  4. Main Text
    • Introduction
    • Materials and Methods / Methodology
    • Results
    • Discussion
    • Conclusion
  5. Acknowledgments (if applicable)
  6. Funding Information
  7. References

4. Formatting Guidelines

  • File format: Microsoft Word (.docx) or LaTeX
  • Font: Times New Roman, size 11–12
  • Line spacing: 1.5
  • Figures and tables must be clearly labeled and cited

5. References

  • Use a consistent citation style (APA or numbered style)
  • Include DOI where available
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of all references

6. Figures and Tables

  • Must be high resolution (≥ 300 dpi)
  • Submitted as separate files if required
  • Include captions and proper numbering

7. Ethical Requirements

Authors must comply with ethical standards as outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE):

  • Original work only
  • No plagiarism or duplicate submission
  • Proper authorship attribution
  • Disclosure of conflicts of interest

8. Peer Review Process

All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process:

  • Initial editorial screening
  • Review by at least two experts
  • Decision: Accept / Minor Revision / Major Revision / Reject

9. Revision and Resubmission

Authors must:

  • Provide a detailed response to reviewer comments
  • Highlight all changes in the revised manuscript
  • Resubmit within the specified timeframe

10. Article Processing Charges (APC)

  • No submission fee
  • APC applies only after acceptance
  • Waivers and discounts may be available

11. Copyright and License

  • Authors retain copyright
  • Articles are published under CC BY 4.0 license
  • Free access and reuse with proper citation

12. Data Availability

Authors are encouraged to:

  • Provide access to supporting data
  • Ensure reproducibility of results

13. Post-Acceptance

After acceptance:

  • Manuscript undergoes copyediting and typesetting
  • Authors receive proofs for review
  • Final article is published online
